Anticancer Potential of Hesperidin against HEp-2 Laryngeal Carcinoma Cell Line in Comparison to Doxorubicin

چکیده
BACKGROUND: Doxorubicin (DOX) is a drug that frequently used to treat variety of cancers. Unfortunately, in many situations, it ineffective, and raising the dosage restricted due systemic toxicity. An important strategy minimize toxic effects above cited use co-adjuvant. A citrus flavonoid hesperidin (Hesp) has emerged as promising anticancer natural product proved be potent antioxidant agent. It suppresses cancer cell replicating by triggering apoptosis cycle arrest. AIM: The study’s goal was investigate anticarcinogenic Hesp comparison with DOX against HEp-2 laryngeal carcinoma line. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Five groups line were included, two subjected other DOX, which reference drug, addition control untreated group. Expression Bcl-2 p53 genes evaluated. Furthermore, arrest apoptotic induction assessed. RESULTS: exerted anti-proliferative cells increase time dependent manner. Gene profile analysis revealed highly statistically significant decrease anti-apoptotic expression tumor suppressor gene (p ˂ 0.01 p 0.0001, respectively) for both tested drugs. CONCLUSIONS: potential reducing viability through mechanism. could prodrug or coadjuvant treatment oral cancer.

Radiosensitization by CpG ODN7909 in an epidermoid laryngeal carcinoma Hep-2 cell line
Objective To evaluate the radiosensitivity effect of CpG oligodeoxyribonucleotide (ODN) 7909 on human epidermoid cancer strain-2 (Hep-2) cells in vitro and discuss the potential for improved radiotherapy treatment in patients with laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma. Methods Toll-like receptor ( TLR) 9 expression was assessed in Hep-2 cells using Western blots and reverse transcription polymerase...

متن کاملPotential role of Notch1 signaling pathway in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma cell line Hep-2 involving proliferation inhibition, cell cycle arrest, cell apoptosis, and cell migration.
Head and neck cancer is the sixth most common cancer worldwide and laryngeal cancer represents the largest subgroup. However, the molecular mechanism underlying its malignant behavior and progression is not clarified. Accumulating evidence has shown that Notch1 signaling pathway plays a central role in carcinogenesis, but its potential role in regulating the development of laryngeal carcinoma, ...
متن کاملEffect of melatonin on cytotoxicity of doxorubicin toward selected cell lines (human keratinocytes, lung cancer cell line A-549, laryngeal cancer cell line Hep-2).
The pineal hormone melatonin (MLT) has been recognised as a substance capable of alleviating in vivo nephro-, cardio- and myelotoxicity of doxorubicin (DOX) and of other anthracyclines in animal models. However, few data are available on the effects of MLT on cytotoxicity of antineoplastic drugs toward tumor cells in vitro. The present study aimed at the evaluation of effects of MLT and of DOX ...
